EA Sports uses its popular football franchise to decide who will win the Lombardi Trophy.
This weekend the biggest football-related event in the country is taking place in The Crescent City, a.k.a. New Orleans, Louisiana. Super Bowl XLVII (47) between the Baltimore Ravens and the San Francisco 49ers is happening on Sunday, but before the game kicks off on the real gridiron, the virtual one is already done in the books.
EA Sport’s football simulation, Madden NFL 13, just predicted how the big game – the battle of the Harbaugh Bros. – will play out. Spoilers, guys: your 2013 National Football League World Champs are… drum roll, please… the Baltimore Ravens, who defeated the San Francisco 49ers – 27 to 24 – thanks to game-sealing interception in the final minutes.
Apparently, the EA folks breathed a heavy sigh of relief when it wasn’t Ravens’ Hall of Fame linebacker Ray Lewis who caught said interception, which would have caused a game-breaking bug set off by excessive dancing after the play.
Oh, I kid. That didn’t happen at all (but in my head it did.)

This is the 9th time Madden has chosen a winner in their annual Super Bow pick-em and has done so with a mighty impressive record, 7 – 2. Not bad at all, but don’t worry 49ers faithful, it’s only a virtual simulation and with dynamic quarterback Colin Kaepernick and tight end Vernon Davis, you guys have a heck of chance at winning the game.
And with that folks we now return you to your regularly scheduled nerdy news from around the Internet here on Walyou, like Star Wars wedding rings and papercrafts of some of your favorite videogame characters.
