No, dear reader, the title is not a reference to Marilyn Manson’s hit record from the 90s, but actually quite literal. Just mechanical animals!
These are the product of Andrew Chase‘s work, moving mechanical sculptures made out of spare parts such as automobile transmission parts, electrical conduits, plumbing parts and sheet steel.
The movements are pretty natural looking, and good equivalents to what the animal can do in its organic counterpart. As you can tell, Chase has a sharp eye for animal movement, and puts attention where it counts.
