After months of waiting, we finally get to see what makes Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance so… Revengeance-y(?), in this latest E3 2012 trailer.
It slices gun-toting guards. It dices giant mechs. It probably cuts potatoes into those neat waffle-shaped French-fries. But most of all, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance (chew on that spelling-nerds), is out to prove to the world that its one insane of an action game, especially if this E3 2012 trailer is any indication.
Once a troubled PS3/Xbox 360 project in the fiery depths of development hell, Kojima Productions reached out to the fan-proclaimed masters of the action game, Platinum Games, to help complete the spin-off title featuring cyber-ninja Raiden and, as Konami’s Twitter hashtag advertises, #MakeItRight.
And that it does, in spectacular fashion we gamers have come to absolutely love (or roll eyes) about Japanese game design. Possibly more, if I dare say? I think what you’re about to see tops the bold antics found in either Bayonetta or Vanquish – if that’s even possible, and heck, I’ve watched this trailer three times already and still can’t.
So prepare yourselves for three minutes of unforgettable sword-chopping combat, a very squeamish scene with a long-sharp blade and a guy’s neck, lots of robot-blood splatter that you can almost feel ruin your tee, and the musical stylings of a Depeche Mode song into one impressive E3 2012 trailer. Enjoy!
Right now I wish I could animate one of those “!” symbols from Metal Gear Solid – you know, the kind that appear over startled enemies – because this next piece of related news is googly-eyes great. When the Zone of the Enders HD Collection drops later this fall, an early access demo for Metal Gear Rising: Reveangence will come packed with it. How dope is that?! Very dope, people. Very.
Now, this upcoming Monday kicks-off E3 2012, where we’ll be sure to see more of Revengeance and a host of other games at the Los Angeles, California event. We here at Walyou will do our best to provide coverage of it, plus still give you all that’s brilliantly geeky about the world. Say a zombie cookie jar… mmm, cookies… or at the other end of the deliciously, sweet spectrum, some Star Wars cupcakes.
