Art can adjust itself to any medium, so it shouldn’t surprise anyone when we say ‘pencilism’ does exist, and that Federico Uribe is one of its best representatives.
Federico Uribe hails from Colombia, but is currently based in the US. He uses pencils to create complex, life sized sculptures representing many aspects of life. The result is productions such as the ones featured in this set of pictures.
You can tell there’s a lot of thought and planning behind each decision. Also, we like how the pencils sticking out look, they give the pieces a great personality. Just imagine how much time it would take to put these together!
