Most gamers know Ratchet & Clank as a 3D platform/shooter video game developed by the creative minds at Insomniac Games. The game centers on the two main characters, Ratchet and Clank, who need to save the galaxy from the villainous Chairman Drek.
Ratchet & Clank is a favorite with the gaming community for its excellent use of graphics, detailed characters, variety of game play, and intelligent use of weapons.
Model artist, Jason Freeny, has collaborated with Insomniac Games and designed Ratchet, Clank, and Qwark model sculpts. The very first thing that would catch your eye is that the three models look exactly like the characters from the game. Jason Freeny has put in an unbelievable amount of detailing and fine design work to bring alive the three main characters from Ratchet & Clank. All the three models reflect an artistic precision in their design and color tones.
Though the models are a real-life rendering of the characters on screen, the artist has used his own imagination and originality in an attempt to offer something new to collectors instead of ordinary toy models. Ratchet stands at ten-inches tall with its trademark heroic posture and one half of its body displaying a skeletal and digestive system that has been sculpted. Clank stands at six-inches displaying a warm smile and a finely sculpted brain placed inside a flip top head. Qwark is the tallest of the three models at 12-inches, and flashes a goofy grin. The creative and design team behind the Ratchet & Clank have all signed on the Qwark model.
Jason Freeny and Insomniac Games decided to collaborate for a good cause. The three model sculpts are on display at ebay and is open for bidding. One reason why you should place your bid is because a significant part of the proceedings will be donated to the Starlight Children’s Foundation.
The Starlight Children’s Foundation has dedicated its services for over 25 years to kids who have a chronic illness or a life-threatening injury.
