Through land, air, and sea, this trailer for the upcoming Sonic Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed has it all just for you.
Mario still isn’t only gaming icon in town “go-karting it up” these days I’ll let you know, his 16-bit rival, Sonic the Hedgehog, along with a cavalcade of famous faces from Sega, recently did the very same for 2010’s Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing, which I’m sure, at least from its wimpy sales, you probably didn’t play.
Boo you, duder. You missed out on one special, under-the-radar racer full of Sega charm. Yeah, yeah, a mascot kart racer sure, but one with solid driving mechanics – no big surprise there really, what with Sumo Digital, developer behind the trusted F1 series, a real-simulation property based on the high-acceleration sport of the same name, calling the shots.
They’ll be behind the steering wheel once more for Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, a direct sequel to All-Stars Racing arriving in North America on multiple gaming platforms November 20, which takes Sonic and friends to new heights and depths of kart-racing whimsy.
As this new trailer earthed just in time for the San Diego Comic-Con 2012 displays in awesome spectacle, racing machines will transform, as the title implies, from standard go-kart into air or sea-based vehicles, whenever the track terrain is set in a different environmental element. Oh, and yes, that is Vyse from Skies of Arcadia just in case you’re wondering.
Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed will come with a roster of 27 racers in all – some returning and some new (Shinobi’s Joe Musashi and Nights from Nights into Dreams for example) – and 16 new tracks full of loving shout-outs to everything remotely Sega. You know, shout-outs are what we do best at Walyou, too. Check out our own for this cute LEGO Boba Fett cosplayer and a zombie-proof car that was shown at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con.
