One of the more interesting video game announcements recently comes from Telltale Games, who’ll be developing a new Batman game, scheduled for a 2016 release.
Kevin Bruner, Co-Founder and CEO of Telltale Games announced about the upcoming release, which like all Telltale games, is planned to become a series with hopefully more than one game in mind.
At Telltale, we’ve been honored to bring our unique approach to interactive storytelling to some of the biggest entertainment franchises in the world, and we’re excited to announce that we’ll soon be exploring what it means to be Batman in an all-new series starting next year. This iteration of Batman will give fans a first-hand opportunity to dive deeper into the complex life and mind of Bruce Wayne, the duality of his own identity, and the struggle of responsibility in saving a city overcome with corruption and villainy.
There’s already a teaser trailer for the game, which is mostly soundbytes of people sharing their opinions on Batman combined with some news reports.
According to David Haddad, president of Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, Telltale has an established track record of creating award-winning content for some of the best properties in the world and we look forward to working with the team as they deliver a new interactive way for fans and gamers to experience the rich narrative world of Batman.
Telltale games are known for turning source material like Game of Thrones and The Walking Dead into very successful video game franchises. Like them, Batman will appear on the PC/Mac and the consoles.
