The American capital of chess is definitely St. Louis, where the World Chess Hall of Fame is located. There’s a very special something to mark this spot, too. That is, the biggest chess piece in the world.
This piece over here is 14.5 feet high, weighs 2,280 pounds and is exactly the type of monument a place should have to declare itself the country’s chess capital. The king stands proud and on its own!
Congratulations to the city of St. Louis, we wish them success in promoting the chess culture.
