Portal fanboys and fangirls will be familiar with these epic words uttered by GLaDOS. We don’t know about the counseling bit, but you certainly can enjoy a Portal themed cake, whenever your geeky heart desires. Cake toppers don’t generally elicit exhilaration from self-confessed geeks and gamers. However, the Atlas & P-Body Wedding Cake Toppers just made the ubiquitous wedding cake cooler and may just inspire other commitment shy gamers to walk down the aisle!
The Atlas & P-Body Wedding Cake Toppers have been created by Flickr user Legohaulic for a Companion Cube wedding cake (this gets better and better). While most Portal themed weddings, usually just have a Companion Cube cake , this one makes things more interesting and geeky, by even making the toppers ‘Portal’ themed.
The cake toppers are pretty cool and as we have mentioned umpteen times before, nothing is cooler than mixing your love for gaming and Legos. Thankfully, the toppers don’t have to become redundant after the wedding, as the figures can be easily removed from the base, and fitted with technic rods for replacement on the cake.
Not a gamer and wondering what the hype is all about? Well, then you need a quick lesson about the Porta video gamel. The single-player first-person puzzle-platform video game requires the protagonist Chell to complete a series of puzzles in the Aperture Science Enrichment Center using a portal gun with the promise of receiving cake (now that is a strong motivating factor) when all the puzzles are completed. He has been challenged by an artificial intelligence named Glados (Genetic Lifeform and Disk Operating System) and ATLAS and P-body, often referred to as Blue and Orange by Glados, are a pair of bipedal Personality Construct based androids that are playable characters in Portal 2’s cooperative campaign.
