Hoth Episode, Angry Birds Star Wars’ First Expansion Launched Today

Many of us would have wanted Angry Birds Star Wars to feature more levels, despite the fact that some of the existent ones were really challenging. Rovio met our expectations today by launching Hoth Episode, the first expansion for the game.

For the ones who are not familiar with the Star Wars saga, the battle of Hoth is when the Alliance to Restore the Republic got its posterior kicked big time. To put this more nicely, I’ll say that this was the single worst battlefield defeat suffered by the Rebels. However, the fate of the Rebels and of the Jedi Masters lies in your hands when playing the Hoth Episode. That will definitely show the Galactic Empire that the force is strong within you!

A couple of days ago Rovio announced that the pink bird would play the role of Princess Leia. Judging by the following video, it is rather obvious that the company kept its word. More than that, the pink bird is a playable character, as Princess Leia is seen shooting multiple lasers streams at the legs of a giant AT-AT Walker.

There also seem to be AT-AT Walkers that resemble the bad piggies. Of course, it is Luke Skywalker’s job to slay these with his lightsaber. According to Rovio, the Hoth episode brings us 20 brand new levels, so that should keep us busy for a little while. Fortunately, the Finnish developers have been launching expansions and even new games very often recently, so getting bored is certainly not a possibility, with them.

Not at last, it should be mentioned that the following video features an incredibly funny soundtrack. Yes, it is part of the Star Wars score, but it sounds as if it is performed by an orchestra.

The logical thing to do after watching the above video is to go download the Hoth episode from Rovio’s website dedicated to the Angry Birds. The Finnish developer certainly thought everything out, as the game is available for a wide variety of platforms, including, but not resuming to: Windows 8 phones, tablets and PCs, iOS, Android and Mac.

No matter on what platform you decide to play the Hoth episode, I am sure that you will have plenty of fun, even if you won’t be able to finish some challenges from the first try. Keep trying, keep playing and do not forget to leave Rovio some feedback!
