We’ve all been there: you put your cup of joe on a newspaper, letter, homework, and you get a stain on it. Most of us will just throw the stained paper, some of us will get mad that we didn’t use a coaster but Stefan Kuhnigk thought of something different. He saw a new form of art in those stains.
It all began on a cold November when Stefan spilled some coffee on a piece of paper and noticed that the coffee stain looks like a little cute monster; a coffee monster. Ever since that day he’s been spilling coffee on a daily basis creating these little coffee creations. You can see all of his awesome work on his instagram/facebook accounts and website. For each of his coffee monsters, there is a story.
“Story: The vibes have been bad for Vibor, the small nosemouth-coffeemonster, who tried to bring good to the world but has been dismissed by most of the other monsters and their bad vibes. So he also started bad vibes. Not cool, Vibor. Not cool. You should have known better”
“Story: Muertus was not very pleased as he saw, that in the near future a hero would come and behead him. But well. Perhaps it was failed magic again. He was not a good evil magician at all. So he just sighed and went on with trying to rule the world”
“Story: Could you say no to him, if he asked you, if he could eat you alive?”
“The angry chicken”
After realizing the potential and popularity of these little creatures, he started a Kickstarter project to publish these little coffee monsters in a coffee table book. Visit his Kickstarter page to see more details and support his effort.
