The Fifth Element is one of my wife’s favorite movies of all time. I’m not entirely sure why, as while she’s a fan of the occasional Science Fiction Movie, she’s by no means a huge fan of the genre. Yet every time this movie happens to be on TV we just have to sit down and watch it. A good Christmas idea, then, might be one of these Fifth Element minimates, which put the bite sized versions (don’t actually bite them, ow) of your favorite characters from the movie in your hands.
I think it’s tough to put the all-encompassing awesomeness of Bruce Willis into a tiny figure, but they do a good job of it here. There’s also our buddy (not so much) Zorg, Leeloo, and Diva Plavalaguna at your disposal. I’m not sure where they came up with the name’s either, so don’t ask. They do look strangely similar to lego guys, though, son’t they? I mean not exactly the same since it looks like they pack a bit more flexibility but…suspiciously so. I’m just waiting for the upcoming clone “minimate universe” to be the latest and greatest MMORPG (as if anything could take on the hulking behemoth that is World of Warcraft. For better or for worse, mind you). Still, I’m a little dissapointed that these guys don’t come with a multipass. Everyone needs a multipass, lest they get arrested by those intergalactic police guys.
IUf you’re looking for other Science Fiction fun, there are way too many to count or present to you in one post, but I’ll give a couple of my favorites. This Sci Fi Eye Chart will test your knowledge of all things Science Fiction (I’d fail), or you can get into the holiday spirit with some Star Wars character ornaments. Enjoy the holidays!
