The Playstation 3 is a slick looking console that looks great in most entertainment center setups. It’s also very versatile, serving as much more than just a game console. However, because of this, it’s easy to fill the console’s internal hard drive with games, music, videos, and just about anything else under the sun. If you’re a digital packrat like me, it can also be difficult going through and deciding which content to remove in order to free up space.
Fortunately, it’s easy to hook up an external hard drive to your PS3, giving you potentially terabytes of new space to fill up with the things you love so they’re accessible right from your console. Fortunately, external hard drives look far sexier than they did in the not-too-distant past, now often thin and sleek black. As nice as they look next to something like the PS3, it’s always fun to pimp things out further for a truly custom look. For example, I’ve used decals on my Gamecube and Nintendo DS to make them look more how I’d prefer than the stock designs.
This, however, is a custom enclosure for your external hard drive, allowing you not only to protect it but also to make it mimic a PS3 console itself. It’s designed after the newer slim version of the PS3, even featuring the Power and Eject buttons. As there’s obviously nothing to eject, however, it likely is used as the usage indicator light. If you’re an Xbox 360 user, you could also use this as its external to pretend you actually have a PS3 sitting next to it! Whatever your reasons, this enclosure is a steal at $13.89. If, perhaps, you want something to blend in with your 360 or Wii, this enclosure also comes in White and Blue variations.
