One creative visual artist decided it was time to retell Star Wars V: The Empire Strikes Back using only icons.
Star Wars V is one of those movies that stays in our memories forever. I remember bits and pieces from the first time I watched it, sitting on my parents sofa back when I was 5 and being utterly blown away because it was unlike anything I had ever seen before. Now, it’s time to be utterly blown away once again. Okay, so maybe only mildly blown away, but if you’re like me, then you’ve got to check out The Empire Strikes Back as retold using icons.
Pretty much all the most memorable scenes are here, humorously depicted with simple graphics, thought bubbles and lots and lots of dotted lines. Some of the highlights of this recreation include the scene where Han Solo slices open his ton-ton and then later being tortured with forks and knives. Oh, and every scene with Darth Vader is awesome.
According to our source, the artist, a certain Wayne Dorrington, had to temporarily remove the images from his website to avoid a high hosting bill due to the traffic influx. He calls the process “iconoscope” and judging from how awesome it is, I would definitely like to see more of these in the future.
