Angry Birds Space is landing on our planet March 22, and thanks to NASA we get to see gameplay for it in this cool new trailer.
Space. The final frontier. These are the voyages of funky multicolored birds that like to smash down the homes of mischievous-looking pigs. Their mission. To explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations, to boldly go where no bird has gone before… And to smash down the homes of mischievous-looking pigs. Actually, this time space pigs – big difference.
That’s right mi amigos, if my lazy word-hacking of the Star Trek intro didn’t tip you off already, the Angry Birds are heading off into the depths of space with Rovio Mobile’s latest installment of the mega-hit series, simply named, Angry Birds Space. The game launches on March 22, 2012 for iOS, Android, PC, and Mac, and features the addictive puzzle gameplay of iterations past, along with a new mechanics based on gravity and weightlessness.
In fact, the Finnish developer even brought in the help of NASA astronaut Don Pettit on board the International Space Station – who you would think should be off doing more important “space-y” things, but hey, whateves – to explain how gravity and the lack their of will effect our oddly-shaped plucky protagonists in this latest trailer for the game. Check it out: it shows off a little bit of gameplay towards the end, and you’ll get to learn a neat little lesson on how physics work in space.
Angry Birds Space will have 60 new levels in all, with new birds, new abilities, and secret bonus levels to keep you perfectly entertained in-between boring subway rides from home to work and vise verse. No price has been set yet, but knowing how cheap other installments have been, I can’t imagine this game being more than two bucks.
So I think. The Angry Birds franchise has become immensely popularity over the past couple of years – sprouting tons of toys, board games, and soon enough, animated feature-length cartoons. They could probably charge an arm and a leg and people might still buy it. I mean it – people really do love those birds.
People also love Apple products. And hey, would you look at that, the company has just announced their newest version of the iPad. Find out all you need to know about the next iPad, including price guides and what not, right here on Walyou.
