Electronic Combustible Lemon Immortalises Cave Johnson’s Hate For Lemons

Ah, life lessons, there is something so cheesy yet hopeful about them. Sure, the cool kids (and by that we mean us) roll their eyes, when someone starts spouting cliched quotes like; “when life gives you lemons, make lemonade” (actual we prefer tequila); however, you do appreciate the thought at times. But, not always, since at times, there is nothing as satisfying or cathartic as a good rant and I admit, even I have found my center after going lunatic on someone!

Speaking of rants, nothing is more epic than the lemon quotes of the deceased Cave Johnson. So, imagine our excitement when we came across the “Electronic Combustible Lemon” at our friends at Kataku. The cheeky gadget has been inspired by the Portal 2’s Cave Johnson rants and elucidates his thoughts on what to do when life gives you lemons.

For the uninitiated and the non-gamers, Johnson is a character from the video game Portal 2, where he is the founder and CEO of Aperture Science. After contracting a deadly disease, his researchers work around the clock to come up with a vaccine. Unfortunately, they fail miserably, which results in Johnson to famously go on a lemon hating tirade, before he met his maker. Curious about his rant?  Well, read on:

“When life gives you lemons, don’t make lemonade. Make life take the lemons back! Get mad! I don’t want your damn lemons, what the hell am I supposed to do with these? Demand to see life’s manager! Make life rue the day it thought it could give Cave Johnson lemons! Do you know who I am? I’m the man who’s gonna burn your house down! With the lemons! I’m gonna get my engineers to invent a combustible lemon that burns your house down!”

The Electronic Combustible Lemon unfortunately doesn’t actually explode, but it does playback Johnson’s epic rant to the background of some trance music and has an ominous sounding countdown as well. Catch the video below to see it in action.

The quirky gadget is available on Etsy and comes in two versions; deluxe and basic, which are available for $80 and $50 respectively. For more information head over here.
