If you can play the Mario Brothers theme on the piano, that is impressive, but, if you are like this guy, and can play it while sitting backwards, well, that’s AMAZING in my book.
When I was young, my mom made me suffer through piano lessons. To this day I have no idea why, but I was not a fan of it. To this day, I can play a mean “Mary Had a Little Lamb” and the chorus to “Hill Street Blues.” But that is all. Both my hands cannot work separately in order to create beautiful, sweet music (you should see me attempt to rub my stomach and pat my head…definitely an exercise in futility). The next Bach or Mozart I was never going to be; in fact, thinking about it now, some twenty-odd years later, I am pretty sure my mom put me in piano lessons just to get me off her back an hour a day, three days a week. (But that is a story for another time.)
But this guy, Jason Lyle Black, he is amazing. Not only does he know how to play one of my favorite video game songs of all time, but he can do it while sitting backwards!
Watch him as he plays the Super Mario theme while not only sitting backwards, but also lying down!
Pretty impressive if you ask me. I’d just like to know how to play it facing the keys without getting mad and smashing the keys with my fist.
(How ‘bout that for my own rendition of Super Mario?! HA!)
