Video games, for whatever reason, are hard to translate onto the big screen. The folks at Machinima, however, have come up with a cool cinematic short featuring everyone’s favorite yellow dot-eater: Pac-Man.
This cool video, done by Steelhouse Digital, comes to us via Techi. They’ve managed to add a backstory for the game. Pac-Man, or the Polymorphous Autonomous Compound Manipulator is actually a top secret government project to create a way to eat up oil spills and radioactive materials. (He prefers cherries, of course.)
This looks like it could be a real video game movie, right down to the ridiculous plot, which makes it possible to read the short as a parody of video game movies. The animation and music, however, are very well done.
If you’re a fan of Pac-Man, then you might want to check out a shelf based on the ghosts in the game. If you actually want to improve your Pac-Man strategy, here’s a post on a secret hiding spot.
