Wii Mod: Unlimited Edition

Is your Wii being completely neglected for the much more powerful PS3 and Xbox 360? Do you play Super Mario Galaxy 2 every now and then just to justify keeping the system? Well, let me assure you, you’re not alone. I mean the Wii is fun to play around with when your younger cousins are over but otherwise, it just sits in the corner, makes me feel guilty, and serves as a reminder that at a certain point in my life, I wasted something like three hundred hours playing Super Smash Brothers Braw.

In any case, if you’re looking to make it up to your Wii and want to liven things up with a little makeover, then how about getting a fancy case mod. You’ll have your Wii eating out of the palms of your hands in no time. I promise – she’ll take you back.

This Wii mod was created by Martin Nielsen (Angel OD) and is dubbed “UNlimited edition” because it was already etched into the metal and he didn’t have a sander on hand. Actually I also want to point out the fact that the font is Times New Roman, which just feels lazy to me for a guy who designs things.

He completely changed the case from the sterile white look to a more rugged industrial one. There are two water coolers on the side to … “cool” the system down … while you’re playing those games with … all the intensive graphics. Heck – they’re called precautionary measure OK? If push comes to shove you can take a sip after that … intense work-out … you’re getting from your Wii fit.

There’s also a thermometer conveniently located at the top of one of the acrylic tubes because geeks are endlessly fascinated with numbers.

Overall, the design is cool enough. It sort of looks more like an elaborate device for smoking recreational drugs or something that’s supposed to house a floating brain.

Make sure you check out this Mario themed GameCube mod and this N64 GameBoy mod for more Nintendo mods.
