Stained Wood Starship Enterprise Mobile Model

There couldn’t be a Star Trek fan who hasn’t dreamed about owning the best Starship Enterprise collection ever.

In fact, there is a small cottage industry that is devoted to creating fantastic models of Starships that are totally out of this world. Raymond Davidson at RaysScraps is a Star Trek fan who has mastered the art of building Starship Enterprise Mobile models using signature wood rings.

It was not easy for Raymond initially to build the model as balancing the rings in a certain position required a lot of effort and even a crash course in physics.

He used glue to stick wooden octagon rings together and created the core of the engines. The engines and the body come stained with Minwax Red Mahogany Wood Finish and the rings themselves are stained with Minwax Early American Wood Finish. They also get two coats of varnish after the stain.

At $75, he includes the shipping cost as well if you purchase more than one piece. It would be a great idea to buy a piece for yourself and gift one to your friend who is a Star Trek fan as well.
