God of War: Ascension. It’s not exactly God of War IV as many had wisely predicted being the game that was teased last week on the Official PlayStation Facebook Fan Page, but it’s a new outing for the Greek human form of fury none the less. This time a prequel exclusively for the PlayStation 3 though, which from sources will attempt to fill in more of the Kratos back-story.

Both God of War games on the PlayStation Portable, Chains of Olympus and Ghost of Sparta, did a fair bit of this already, so it’s going to be interesting to see what other folkloric setting Kratos can beat the ever-living snout out of in Ascension this time ’round. Returning champs Sony Santa Monica Studio will be up to that task, along with God of War III design director, Todd Papy, now the big honcho for this title.

Today, sadly, we only have small sampling of God of War: Ascension – the teaser trailer below – but you won’t have to wait too long to learn more about it, because the PlayStation Blog will be live streaming an info-onslaught of meaty game details and taking your questions via Twitter, on Monday, April 30th at 8am Pacific Time (that’s 11am Eastern Time.)

Be there friends, or Kratos will hunt down where you live, kick down the door to your house, and BBQ your precious four-legged friend. Don’t think he won’t do it either. You and I both fully know he would in a second’s notice, which is why I’m tattooing the live stream date to the inside of eyelids. I recommend you do the same!

What the God of War series delivers in amounts of bloody carnage like a butcher shop, we here at Walyou measure up in geeky goodness. Dang straight! Find out why we’re totally into this Super Mario Bros Mushroom PC case mod, and laughing our buns off with the rapper 2Pac showing up in hologram form (again), thanks to Star War’s R2-D2.
