As with every new season of Game of Thrones, new characters are introduced: Oberyn Martell, Mace Tyrell, Ellaria Sand and others from the books, important and less, while some new “original” figures are introduced as well.
Just to give those of you who don’t know anything about the characters and are solely Show fans, here’s a little bit on how these folks look like, and maybe so crucial info on their who, where and what.
Oberyn Martell, The Red Viper of Dorne
Oberyn Martell is going to have a big part to play in what happens next in King’s Landing (if the show follows the book well enough). He is the brother of Prince Doran Martell, the leader of Dorne, but it’s uncler how concurrent with his actions and personality from the books will we see in the show. (Art by higheternity)
Mace Tyrell
Father of Margery and not the sharpest tool in the shed, he is the head of the most powerful family in the Reach, but not exactly on top of things in his family. (Art by cabepfir)
Tycho Nestoris, Iron Bank of Braavos Representative
A banker from the Iron Bank in Braavos, a city on the other end of the Narrow sea, with a very powerful bank that the Iron Throne owes money to. He comes into the story a bit earlier than in the books, so his role might actually change from what the readers know. (Art by mustamirri).
Ellaria Sand, Paramour of Oberyn
Lover of Oberyn Martell, coming with him from the South to spend some quality time in King’s Landing. (Art by Shu-Maat).
Magnar of Thenn, Wildling Leader
A wildling leader that his people are slightly different than the other Wildlings, using Bronze weapons and following a different code, which isn’t so liberal like it is for the rest of the people from North of the wall. (Art by Sir-Heartsalot).
Walda Frey, Roose Bolton’s Wife
Roose Bolton gets in bed with the Freys, and finds himself a nice plump wife. (Art by elia-illustration)
Sir Bronze Royce
One of the biggest lords in the Vale, he is the father of ser Waymar, the knight we see killed in the very first scene in the TV show, as the White Walkers attack the three men of the Night’s Watch. His other son was killed by Brienne as she escaped the tent Renly was killed in. (Art by guad)
