It’s a known fact that golf is a sport for rich people, but who would have thought that you need to be Bruce Wayne to play the game?
eBay user rayshollywood listed for auction a few days ago one of the most unusual and best-looking (despite being in used condition) golf carts ever: one shaped like Batman’s Tumbler. The description of the item, while hilarious at times, emphasized the fact that only serious inquiries were to be considered. Even though the Batman Tumbler golf cart has since been sold, but it’s definitely interesting to see how such a unique item came to be and how it found a new Dark Knight to ride it into the night. As a side note, maybe it’s not the best idea ever to play golf at night, unless you have glow-in-the-dark balls.
The tumbler golf cart was initially listed at what may seem like a very steep price, $17,500. New, electric golf carts are a couple of times cheaper than that, but being the Dark Knight on the golf course obviously comes at a price. The owner admits that he spent more than $30,000 to put all this together, so in the end, the asking price is a real bargain, apparently.
It all started with a EZ-Go Golf-Cart that got stripped down of all the (reportedly cheap) plastic until all that remained was the metal frame and the four cup holders. You would expect the seller to mention how the cart works on a golf course, but apparently the Batman Tumbler golf cart hasn’t been used in such a scenario. According to the seller, 1/4 of the time it was used in a studio lots, while the rest of the time was spent by this beauty indoors, as an exhibit.
There’s nothing about this cart that resembles the EZ-Go Golf-Cart anymore. The design has been changed radically and little touches have been added to ensure an increased degree of originality. For example, this golf cart comes with an iPad stand (because you have to be that pretentious when looking for the next hole) that hopefully can accommodate Android tablets as well. Not at last, Batman’s logo has been added on a sports steering column.
In the end, the Batman Tumbler golf cart was sold for less than the asking price, which means that the seller accepted the best offer. Considering how good this item looks, that definitely wasn’t a mocking offer.
