No matter how sappy a marriage proposal may be, you have to have a pretty cold heart not to be moved by them. One guy in Kuala Lumpur used advice animals and memes from rage comics to make a hilariously sweet proposal.
Timothy Tiah decided to surprise his sweetheart Audrey outside a restaurant. Holding some large cards, he stands in the window, flipping them in a manner reminiscent of the famous film clip of Bob Dylan’s “Subterranean Homesick Blues.” The cards include such favorites as “Socially Awkward Penguin,” the stylized version of Yao Ming that indicates disdain, and even the “Y U No” guy.

Even if you’re the kind of person who hates the ubiquitous image macros and advice animals floating around, you have to imagine the effort that went into this. It takes courage to tell that special someone that you want to spend the rest of your life with him or her, but it takes even more courage to do it with style. And as the video clip shows, Tim was very nervous throughout the proposal. And in case you’re wondering, Audrey said “Yes.” There doesn’t seem to be a wedding date set yet, but all of us here at Walyou wish the happy couple the best.
